Company Policy Series – Dress Code Policy Sample
The purpose of the Dress Code Policy is to provide a guideline for employees in terms of what is and what is not acceptable manner of dress in a business casual workplace.
The following is what a Dress Code Policy could look like:
“The Company’s official standard of dress in the office is business casual. Business casual dress is generally defined as wearing more comfortable, less structured attire while keeping in mind job duties, appointments, meetings and customer visibility. The objective in establishing a business casual dress code is to allow our employees to work comfortably while maintaining a professional image, keeping in mind that not all casual clothing is acceptable for work. Compliance with this policy relies primarily on the good judgment of employees in selecting appropriate business casual attire. Managers may adopt more structured guidelines as their business operations warrant, and management has the overall responsibility for assuring proper attire is worn by employees under their area of responsibility. Good personal hygiene and personal habits are also very important.”
In addition, some other guidelines in the Policy should include:
- Positions that require uniforms
- Reasonable Accommodation for Religious Beliefs
Not all companies require the same polices and it is recommended that polices be tailored to a company’s specific needs. If you would like a complete version of this policy, please contact us.
