Company Policy Series – Business Ethics Policy Sample
The purpose of the Business Ethics Policy is to communicate standards of professional conduct that all employees are expected to adhere to.
The following is what a Business Ethics Policy could look like:
“The successful business operation and reputation of ABC Company is built upon the principles of fair dealing and ethical conduct of our employees. Our reputation for integrity and excellence requires careful observance of the spirit and letter of all applicable laws and regulations, as well as a scrupulous regard for the highest standards of conduct and personal integrity.
The continued success of the Company is dependent upon our customers’ trust and we are dedicated to preserving that trust. Employees owe a duty to the Company, its customers, and shareholders to act in a way that will merit the continued trust and confidence of the public.
A professional image requires you to treat others as you would like to be treated, keep work areas orderly and clean, use appropriate language, be sensitive to cultural diversity, appreciate everyone’s contribution to the success of the business, respect others’ opinions, and maintain a positive attitude.”
In addition, some other guidelines in the Policy should include:
- Consequences for violating the standards set forth in the policy
Not all companies require the same polices and it is recommended that polices be tailored to a company’s specific needs. If you would like a complete version of this policy, please contact us.
