In a business where practically every employee has a customer-facing position, the personalities are as important as the skills required to do the job. And of course, the relatively small staff also has to work together. A cultural fit was equally important to finding people with the skills needed to do the job.
The traditional way of recruiting meant lots of time away from the core business for the owners – and not the greatest success either.
Over the 16 plus years of operating the business, the owners had used a few sources for vetting resumes with not so great results and a significant time investment. The owners were spending a lot of time screening and interviewing candidates and the results of those hires were not what they hoped for. The decision was made to engage Investment HR for help in staffing office personnel.
With the help of Investment HR, CCM hoped to minimize their time invested in the process and to experience more successful hiring results for the business.
Investment HR utilized every step of the Full Cycle Recruitment process for this project beginning with interviews of the stakeholders to assess the skills necessary for the position and to fully understand the culture of the company.
I was pleasantly surprised at the attention to detail Investment HR showed in understanding our company culture and from that, know the type of person that would do well here.
Investment HR handled all of the details saving the business owners valuable time.
- Writing the job description
- Posting the job
- Screening candidates
- Customized testing
- Scheduling interviews
- Co-interviewed
- Reviewed candidates after the interview
- Drafted and extended offer letter
- Onboarding process
- Post hire follow up
Investment HR stayed in close contact with CCM throughout the screening process and a detailed narrative with pros and cons accompanied each resume that was submitted. Interviews were scheduled back-to-back, saving valuable time for the owners. Following the interviews, Investment HR counseled CCM on the prospects with regard to how they would fit into the company. The first round of interviews revealed candidates that had the right skills but not the right fit for the company, so another round of screening was conducted with interviews following.
The right candidate was found in this group of candidates. After a selection was made, CCM gave Investment HR the information for the offer, salary and benefits, and IHR made the offer to the candidate. After the acceptance, IHR even helped with the onboarding process. Follow up was conducted at one week, one month and at the conclusion of month two.
After nearly two years of working with Investment HR, Colorado Climate Maintenance has experienced a more than 80% percent success ratio in hiring.
