The purpose of the Nursing Mothers Accommodation Policy is to provide a supportive environment to enable breastfeeding employees to express their milk during work hours.
The following is what a Nursing Mothers Accommodation Policy could look like:
“The Company will provide reasonable breaks for breastfeeding employees to express milk during work hours for up to 2 years following the birth of a child. Breastfeeding employees who choose to continue providing their milk for their infants after returning to work shall receive milk expression breaks during normal breaks and meal times.”
In addition, some other guidelines in the Policy should include:
- Designating a private room to be available for employees to express milk
- Employee responsibilities
