Company Policy Series – Anti-Violence Policy Sample
The purpose of the Anti-Violence Policy is to promote and maintain a work environment that is free from any form of threats, stalking, abusive behavior, or any acts of violence against employees, visitors, and clients, and to communicate the consequences of violating these standards.
The following is what an Anti-Violence Policy could look like:
“ABC Company is committed to preventing workplace violence and to maintaining a safe work environment. Given the increasing violence in society in general, ABC Company has adopted the following guidelines to deal with intimidation, harassment, or other threats of (or actual) violence that may occur during business hours or on Company property.
All employees should be treated with courtesy and respect at all times. Employees are expected to refrain from fighting, “horseplay,” or other conduct that may be dangerous to others. Firearms, weapons, and other dangerous or hazardous devices or substances are prohibited at any Company work site.”
In addition, some other guidelines in the Policy should include:
- Prohibited Conduct
- Reporting the Potential for Workplace Violence
- Investigations and Consequences
Not all companies require the same polices and it is recommended that polices be tailored to a company’s specific needs. If you would like a complete version of this policy, please contact us.
